LG G4 Pro Vs Note 5 Vs iPhone 6s: Speculative Battle Royale
Giant screens are all the rage now and the screens aren’t the only big thing for these rumored phones
With the 2015 flagships done and dusted by LG, Samsung, and Apple, it's that time of the year when rumors and leaks start to indicate that there are new devices in the pipeline and possibly be unveiled toward the end of this year. Who will take the crown? Let’s take a look at all the rumors surrounding LG, Samsung, and Apple’s respective soon-to-be-released offerings, the G4 Pro, the Note 5, and the iPhone 6s.
LG is expected to go with largely the same design as its current flagship phone LG G4 with LG G4 Pro. With options of genuine leather backing, the G4 already screams premium and we have no doubt LG wants the improved version of its flagship to look and feel premium as well. However, some reports indicate that the new handset will have a metal body as well.
Samsung revamped its design language completely with its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, ditching its much criticized plastic build for an exquisite glass and metal finish. It’s expected to go with largely the same materials for its Note 5 as it was very well received by fans.
According to a patent application by Apple on June 18, it has found a way to get rid of the antenna lines that has plagued the iPhone’s otherwise beautiful design. This will reportedly be achieved by a new metal material, which is thin enough to let the antenna work as normal and will be anodized in the same shade as the rest of the phone. The new iPhone will also reportedly be slightly thicker than the existing model due to incorporation of the new Force Touch Technology in the display. It is also suggested that the camera might not protrude from the back this time on the new iPhone.
LG is expected to make a dramatic improvement in its new offering for its internals compared to the existing LG G4. According to rumors, the new phone will sport a large 5.8-inch QHD IPS LCD screen. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which will probably make it the first phone to feature this new CPU. 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will ensure that users never face any kind of slowdowns even with intense multitasking.
With Note 5, Samsung will reportedly go with the Exynos 7422 processor inside. The 7422 will probably be the first ever all-in-one chip with CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage, and modem all on the same chip under the hood. There are no rumors regarding how much amount of RAM will be available for the phablet but we expect it to have 4GB of RAM as that looks to be the norm going forward for flagships. A 5.9-inch 4K or 2K screen and 4,000mAh battery is what will reportedly bolster the Note 5’s flagship status.
Apple is expected to yet again launch two phones with same screen sizes i.e. 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch plus model. The new iPhone is also almost guaranteed to use an improved processor, an A9 chip which should be 15% smaller, 20% more powerful, and 35% more power-efficient than the A8 chip, this will be coupled with an improvement of a 2GB RAM.
If rumors are anything to go by, LG will make a huge jump in the camera department from its current G4. While the G4 has a 16MP main camera with an 8MP front cam, the G4 Pro is rumored to be sporting a 27MP main camera, we repeat, rumored to be. That is truly a huge jump and if LG can get all the other aspects of its camera right, we really will have a formidable camera phone on our hands.
There are no rumors yet for the specifications of the Note 5’s camera as of yet, so we cannot report anything about it at the moment, but we expect the main camera to be a respectable 16MP shooter with a 5MP selfie sensor.
Apple iPhone 6s will most probably sport a 12MP main camera with no news of what its front cam will hold. According to blogger John Gruber, the new iPhone will see the biggest jump in camera close to rivaling a DSLR.
Both LG G4 Pro and the Note 5 will most probably ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board, Android M could be a far-fetched possibility but nonetheless a possibility while the iPhone 6s will run on iOS 9.
